A Ball State University Student's Blog

Lots of stuff

has been happening lately, so when I sat down to write a blog post Sunday night I wasn’t exactly sure where to start.

Then I got really distracted by Britney Spears’ music videos + dancing/working out with my roommate and the act of writing my blog post was completely forgotten. If you have never tried working out via dancing (kind of like zumba, but less organized and more erratic/spontaneous), I strongly encourage you to do so.

It is so much fun.

Besides having an awesome time sporadically dancing with my roommate this past week, I also went to a planetarium show with Michelle (you can read about the planetarium show in Michelle’s blog post here), learned some of the steps involved in using a minibioreactor from my research mentor, hung out with some other friends, successfully applied for two more internships, had a great time at a BSUASM meeting and a SAACS Science Day planning meeting, and caught some kind of sickness.

I kind of <3 the Ball State Health Center. I am fairly certain I visit the Health Center at least once every semester. You can read more about the Health Center in my older blog post “Sick Days in September…and October” (simply click on the link and it should take you to the post!). Anyway, I recently went to the Health Center because of the previously mentioned catching of some sickness and was pleasantly surprised to see that they renovated the building a little bit—new, comfy, colorful waiting room chairs, new flooring, a brand new flat screen TV—it was really nice and made waiting more enjoyable.

The nurses and doctors at the Ball State Health Center are definitely more skilled than this cartoon nurse.

As an added bonus, I saw the doctor, got my medication from the pharmacy, and made an appointment with a physical therapist all in a span of about an hour = super convenient.

So as you can see, I’ve been busy with lots of stuff (hence the random Wednesday blog post). Hopefully I’ll feel better later on this week/will be less busy so that I’ll be able to post a blog on my usual Sunday date. Keep on coming back to my blog though for updates and/or check out my older blog posts for some easy-reading + more entertaining information about student life at Ball State.

Also, please let me know in the comments section of my blog if you have any questions about the Health Center here on-campus or if you would like some information about anything else you are curious about. I would love to hear from you!
